Weapons and Ammo

Usopp is a tinkerer and capable of making devices and weapons. He is not a super genius at such things, and his skills aren't on par of Franky's, it's more like he's clever and practical with his junk and able to create interesting things. He's also capable of making tinker toys and other fun little toys, but that's not really the point here.

He is a sniper but he primarily uses a slingshot, though over time he had created more impressive slingshots. He also uses random, every day objects in clever ways to help in his fight against enemies.

Slingshot: It's just a normal slingshot. It's green. That's about all to know. He doesn't really use it anymore, but I imagine he keeps it in his bag for old time's sake.

Kabuto: The Kabuto is basically a souped up slingshot. When the Straw Hats went to some cloud islands in the sky (no really) they discovered these shells called "Dials," that can do various things, which will be detailed later. It has five prongs to help with stability and and range and is implemented with Breath Dials to give the ammo more kick. He can change out the dials to give the ammo different strengths, but for the most part he keeps it with Breath Dials.

Kuro Kabuto: Is basically a mix of the normal sling shot and the Kabuto. It's nearly the same as the Kabuto, just in a handier size. Also, as its name suggests, it's black.

Clima-tact: The Clima-tact isn't a weapon he uses, but is interesting to talk about just to show his ingenuity. Much earlier in the series and before use of Dials, he created a staff weapon for his crewmate Nami. It's split into three parts that can be taken apart or pieced together. Each piece has different temperature control in them and can shoot out a ball of "weather", one cool, one warm and one thunderous. Nami can mix these balls of temperature to create mini weather systems that can be used as attacks. She can create rainstorms, electrical storms, tornadoes, et cetera. It's rather impressive that he could create such a thing. He later improved it using Dials.

Hammers: "Usopp Hammer," he basically hits someone with his workshop hammer. It's not that effective against really strong opponents because he is not that strong. :(

"Usopp Pound," a giant, false, inflatable hammer that says "5t" on it. It's a psychological attack to intimidate an opponent, making them think he can easily lift a 5 ton hammer. Some with weaker constitutions may even faint or fall into a stupor for a bit when he swings it at them.

"Usopp Golden Pound," another giant, false hammer that says "10t" on it. Pretty much the same as above.

Makibishi Jigoku (まきびし地獄, Caltrop Hell): Basically he throws caltrops.

Usopp Noise: He plugs his ears and then drags his nails down a chalkboard to make an opponent flinch.

Usopp AAaaaAAAaaaAA!: A belt he created that shoots out a grappling hook. He can use it to hook onto things and swing, but he's not exactly smooth at using it and doesn't use it so often. It's called what it is to emulate Tarzan, but he mostly shrieks like a little girl when using it, instead.

His ammo was, for the most part, made from ball bearings or pachinko balls. He would make his own ammo with pellets, filling them with various things to make them more deadly or distracting. He keeps them all in a big sack he carries with him at all times.

Attack names in bold are for Usopp mode and usually are Japanese (or Japanese with some English). Attack names in italics are for Sogeking mode and are usually English.

Namari Boshi (鉛星, Lead Star)
Metallic Star
    Simple ball bearing.

Kayaku Boshi (火薬星, Gunpowder Star)
Sogeking Gunpowder Star
The pellets are filled with gunpowder and thus are explosive.

Sanren Kayaku Boshi (三連火薬星, Triple Gunpowder Star)
    Three shot at once.

Kayaku Hoshi Boshi (火薬星星, Gunpowder Star Star)
Jumping around like a spazz as he's firing.

Rolling Kayaku Boshi (回転(ローリング)火薬星, Rolling Gunpowder Star)
Rolling around like a spazz as he's firing.

Tamago Boshi (卵星, Egg Star)
Basically a rotten egg that he shoots at someone.

Shinsen Tamago Boshi (新鮮卵星, Fresh Egg Star)
I think you can figure this one out.

Kemuri Boshi (煙星, Smoke Star)
Sogeking Smoke Star
    A smoke bomb.

Kaen Boshi (火炎星, Flame Star)
A pellet filled with a flammable substance. He will sometimes throw flammable substances onto an enemy before firing for further effectiveness.

Tokusei Tabasco Boshi (特製タバスコ星, Deluxe Tabasco Star)
A pellet with Tabasco sauce that he either shoots into an opponent's mouth or eyes, depending on how much of a bitch he wants to be.

Akahebi Boshi (赤蛇星, Red Snake Star)
A flare that lets off a stream of red smoke to alert others of his position or to signal something.

Shuriken Ryūsei-gun (手裏剣流星群, Shuriken Meteoric Swarm)
He fires a chain of attached shuriken (you know, pointy star hurty things) that spread out when fired.

Sakuretsu Saboten Boshi (炸裂サボテン星, Exploding Cactus Star)
A pellet filled with quills that showers the opponent.

Koshō Boshi (胡椒星, Pepper Star)
A pellet filled with pepper to make the opponent sneeze.

These following ammo are only able to be used with the Kabuto:
Hi no Tori Boshi (火の鳥星(ファイアーバードスター), Fire Bird Star)
Fire Bird Star
A very powerful Kaen Boshi that, when fired, has a shape like a phoenix.

Himawari Boshi (向日葵星, Sunflower Star)
Five Kayaku Boshi are shot at the same time in a pentagon shape.

Chō Kemuri Boshi (超煙星, Super Smoke Star)
A bullet that creates a massive smokescreen over a long distance.

Rokuren Mamushi Boshi (六連蝮星, Six Chamber Pit-Viper Star)
Six Kayaku Boshi are shot at the same time in a snake like pattern at an enemy.

Salt Star (塩星)
Used at first to separate shadows from zombies, thus killing them (it's a One Piece thing don't ask), it's effective at blinding opponents.

Atlas Suisei (アトラス彗星, Atlas Comet)
He shoots four high speed Kayaku Boshi with smoke tails which converge together and hit a target. The arcs the four shots make resemble the horns of an Atlas Beetle.

Torimochi Boshi (トリモチ星, Sticky Star)
Usopp fires a high speed pellet containing a sticky substance with a smoke tail at an enemy in order to immobilize them.

Gokiburi Boshi (ゴキブリ星, Cockroach Star)
A giant sized pellet filled with fake roaches, designed to surprise and horrify the enemy. Will call the attack by another name so the surprise is actually more, you know, surprising.

Tokuyō Abura Boshi (特用油星, Special Oil Star)
Usopp shoots three pellets containing with his "special oil" to slip an opponent.

Dials, as mentioned earlier, are shells Usopp brought back from Skypeia that have special properties. It's One Piece's weird ways of introducing technology to a world where there really isn't any, kinda like snails that are used as phones.

Impact Dial: This dial can absorb damage and reflect the kinetic energy back at an opponent. It only can reflect back as much energy it receives, but if it was hit hard by an insanely strong enemy, or an explosion, it can reflect back hard. It causes internal injuries without leaving an outward mark. The downside to using the Dial is that it hurts the user as well, and so Usopp doesn't use it often. Because he's a wussy.

Tone Dial: It can record and play back sound.

Breath Dial: It can blow out air, strength varying by Dial.

Flash Dial: It stores light. He uses it to blind opponents if used at all.

When he was stuck training on Greenstone, his mentor Heracles teaches him about Pop Greens, which become his primary ammo of choice.

Not much is known about Pop Greens as of yet. It's not explained how they can grow so quickly, nor how Usopp is able to have a continuous supply of them. (I assume he would have to have a living example of the plant and gather seeds from them, so he might have a little garden going on.) The seeds color and patterns tell him which one is which.

Each attack name is prefaced by "Midori Boshi:", meaning "Green Star".

Midori Boshi: Devil - A giant Venus flytrap-like plant large enough to snap up several people at once. It also has ensnaring vines.

Midori Boshi: Sargasso - A field of tangling seaweed, it's quite strong and can ensnare things. He used it to stop an avalanche of rocks that were tumbling for their boat.

Midori Boshi: Rafflesia - A large flower that produces a smell so foul it can be disabling.

Midori Boshi: Take Jaberin ("Bamboo Javelin-Grove", it's a pun evidently) - These seeds produce sharp bamboo sprout that can impale enemies.

Midori Boshi: Dokuro Bakuhatsu So ("Skull Exploding Grass") - An explosive grass that blows on impact, releasing a cloud in the shape of a skull.

Midori Boshi: Humandrake - A hideous flower with roots that allow it to leap free of the ground and impact enemies.

Midori Boshi: Trampolia - A giant flower with a bubble in the center that can launch a person in the air.

Midori Boshi: Impact Wolf - A seed that produces a wolf-shaped shrubbery that has a bulb on the nose that produces a powerful impact when it hits an enemy.
